ALBA STAR BECOMES TOP EUROPEAN PILGRIMAGE CARRIER WITH ENTRY TO IRISH MARKET
Alba Star S.A, the highly successful Spanish charter airline today announced a major new contract to
serve the Irish pilgrimage market in 2014. Together with existing flights from the Italian market, mainly
for UNITALSI, Alba Star will become the top European airline to transport pilgrims to Lourdes in 2014.
Speaking from Lourdes during the anniversary celebrations for the apparition of the Virgin Mary, Michael Harrington, Alba Star’s Managing Director, hailed the signing of the new Irish contract “a testimony to the four years of top quality work Alba Star has achieved in this important market… finally achieving the strategic goals set out by our late President, Pino D’Urso. Already Alba Star has served more destinations from Lourdes than any other airline, and the entry to the Irish market is particularly importantto add to our Italian Market growth. ”
Alba Star will now create a new base in Lourdes, its third base since the airline started flying in 2010with Boeing 737-400 aircraft.
