Air Ghana has officially launched operations after it was granted an Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) in April. The start-up says it intends to operate a total of five jets over the next three years, of which a first B737-400(F), 9G-AGL (msn 25163), has been leased from Spain's Swiftair.
Operating on behalf of DHL Express, the aircraft was deployed on Air Ghana's maiden route - Abidjan to Lagos via Accra and return - on May 1.
