Taron Avia (TRV, Erebuni) is planning to deploy its fleet of three B737-500s on scheduled flights to Russia later this quarter airline chairman Garnik Papikyan has told ATO news in an interview.
Papikyan says he sees strong potential in the Armenia-Russia market.
"We will be based in Yerevan," he said. "From the Armenian capital, we mainly want to fly to Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhniy Novgorod, Rostov, Krasnodar, Adler/Sochi, Volgograd, Voronezh Chertovitskoye and others."
Presently, the start-up's B737 fleet is undergoing C-Checks and repainting in Jordan ahead of a planned September launch.
According to its website, Taron-Avia also operates five freighters - one Il-76TD and four An-12BPs.
