Fly Sarvaq (Iqaluit) is a Canadian start-up planning to commence operations on May 6 with scheduled passenger flights from its Iqaluit hub to Ottawa Int'l (2x weekly) and Halifax (weekly).
"We identified a need that we saw, and with the model that we have we think we can make it work," airline spokesman Brian Tattuinee said. "We are confident that once we launch, Nunavummiut and Maritimers, who want a more cost-efficient way to travel, will book with us."
A virtual carrier, Fly Sarvaq will charter a B737-200Adv(C) from Nolinor Aviation (NRL, Montréal Trudeau) to cover its operational needs.
