Norwegian has commenced long-haul operations to Boston (BOS) from Europe, starting on 27 March from London Gatwick (LGW).
The 5,267-kilometre link from the UK capital to Boston will be flown by Norwegian five times weekly onboard its 787-8 fleet according to OAG Schedules Analyser data. The second connection to the US city launched on 2 April in the form of a weekly (Saturdays) connection from Oslo Gardermoen (OSL). The 5,621-kilometre link will also be flown by the carrier’s 787-8 fleet facing no direct competition. Although services from London Gatwick will face no direct competition, indirect incumbents come in the form of British Airways, Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways. Combined these three carriers operate 41 weekly departures between London Heathrow and Boston. A third long-haul route to Boston will commence on 12 May from Copenhagen, while seasonal services from the US city to Fort de France and Pointe-à-Pitre in the Caribbean will return for W16/17.
