Venezuela's Avior adds maiden widebody jet

Avior Airlines (9V, Barcelona José Antonio Anzoategui) has taken delivery of its first widebody aircraft after A340-300 YV3292 (cn 199) arrived at Barcelona José Antonio Anzoategui on Tuesday, September 7.

The Venezuelan carrier is expecting a second of the type - cn 201 - at some point in the near future.

As previously reported, the aircraft will be used on European, South American, and US services. However, given their size and operational requirements, the A340s have warranted a change in operational base for Avior. Plans are currently underway to shift its hub from Barcelona to Caracas Simón Bolivar.
