Korean Air’s latest long-haul aircraft, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, will make its inaugural international flight on Thursday 1 June 2017.
The twin-aisle aircraft was delivered to Korean Air in February 2017, but has since been operating domestic flights between Seoul’s Gimpo Airport and Jeju Island. But from tomorrow, the Dreamliner will be deployed on the trans-Pacific route between Seoul’s Incheon International Airport and Toronto. Flights will operate daily.
Following this switch, the Gimpo-Jeju route will be served by a Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
Korean Air will continue to expand its fleet of Dreamliners this summer, with new aircraft expected to be deployed on routes from Incheon to Madrid and Beijing in July and August. All these aircraft will come equipped with 269 seats in a three-class configuration, with six seats in first class, 18 in business class and 245 in economy.
The national carrier has ordered a total of 10 787-9 Dreamliners, which will complement its modern and diverse long-haul fleet of Boeing 777s, 747-8s, Airbus A330s and A380s.
