FLEET - A new fleet for Lufthansa services

Lufthansa Group orders 40 Boeing 737 MAX and 40 Airbus A220 aircraft

On December 19, 2023, the Lufthansa Group announced that it had ordered 40 A220-300s with an option for 20 additional airframes and 40 737 MAX 8s with 60 options remaining. By the time the Boeing jets are delivered in 2027, it will have been more than a decade since any member airline operated the type.

As for the A220s, they are all destined for the new Lufthansa branch – Lufthansa City; Deliveries of the type are scheduled to begin in 2026.
