DISCONTINUE OPERATIONS - Japan Airlines and Yamato Holdings (Japan) have decided to discontinue operations in June 2027 of their domestic cargo-only aircraft, operated by Spring Japan.

Japan Airlines and Yamato Transport have announced they will end its partnership and discontinue its dedicated freighter-operations by June 2027. 

The decision was made as profitable operations was becoming increasingly difficult due to the depreciation of the yen and rising aviation fuel costs.
JAL and Yamato established their partnership in 2024 in an effort to tackle Japan's shortage of logistics-capacity and truck-drivers. It leased three A321-200P2Fs, which are placed and operated by partially JAL-owned Spring Airlines Japan.
