American Eagle to rebrand, rename itself

American Eagle Airlines is planning to change both its name and logo as the American Airlines subsidiary moves to better distinguish itself from other regional carriers that fly for American. Airline president Pedro Fábregas is quoted by the Dallas Morning News as saying the change, initially proposed in 2012, would be announced over the next few weeks. "It was put on the back burner, and now it's back," said American Airlines spokesman Matt Miller. "American Eagle is the brand of the regional feed, but we've diversified that feed and now have regional service provided by other carriers ... so it gets to be a little confusing." No actual names or logos have yet been revealed but according to Mr Miller, the company is taking into consideration the results of an Eagle employee survey from last year. Ch-aviation
