Wingo, the Colombian airline which commenced operation in December, launched flights between Panama City/Balboa (BLB) and Cartagena (CTG) on 23 February.

The carrier will offer flights three times weekly (Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays) between the two airports, with no other carrier offering direct competition on the 451-kilometre sector. However, while no direct rivalry is offered between the two airports, Copa Airlines and and its subsidiary, Copa Airlines Colombia, both fly from Panama City’s main airport to Cartagena. Wingo currently has a fleet of four 737-700s, which is the aircraft that will also operate its latest airport pairing.
