Amelia International to add A319

Amelia International (NL, Ljubljana) took delivery of its first A319-100 on December 10, 2022, and plans to induct it into revenue service in spring 2023 following maintenance in Ljubljana.

VQ-BQW (msn 2279), an 18.3-year-old aircraft owned by AerCap and last operated by S7 Airlines, through September 2020, was ferried from storage at Marana via Duluth, Goose Bay, and Reykjavik Keflavik to Ljubljana over the course of December 9-10, 2022. The airline told ch-aviation that it reserved F-HDRA as the registration for its new A319, but the process was not finalised yet. Most of Amelia International's aircraft - one ATR42-500, four E135s, and seven E145s - are registered in France. Its only ATR72-200(F) is registered in Ireland, while the only aircraft registered in Slovenia is the eighth E145, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows. The A319 will become the Slovenian carrier's maiden narrowbody jet.

French sister carrier Regourd Aviation, operating under the Amelia brand, took its first and only A319 in early 2022. The French carrier also operates one ATR72-600 and one E145.
