SPECIAL LIVERY - JetBlue Celebrates United States’ 250th Anniversary with Updated Livery, Inflight Programming, and Community Initiatives

U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy joined JetBlue at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) to view commemorative aircraft honoring America’s 250th anniversary

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) today announced that its "Vets in Blue" aircraft now features a commemorative "250" design honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. The aircraft was showcased on Tuesday at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), where U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy joined JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty and an all-veteran JetBlue flight crew to recognize the airline's tribute to veterans and active-duty service members whose service has helped safeguard the freedoms celebrated throughout the nation's 250-year history.

JetBlue specially designed the commemorative “250” design to add to its “Vets in Blue” aircraft, the airline’s special livery honoring U.S. military veterans. The aircraft now serves as a flying tribute to America’s historic anniversary while continuing to recognize the service, sacrifice and dedication of the United States’ service members. As part of the tribute, JetBlue is also unveiling a limited run of 1,776 trading cards featuring the special livery.

“As we mark America’s 250th anniversary, JetBlue is proud to celebrate the spirit of service, community and connection that has shaped our country,” said Joanna Geraghty, chief executive officer, JetBlue. “Our ‘Vets in Blue’ aircraft has long served as a tribute to the veterans and service members who inspire us, and adding this special 250 design gives us a meaningful way to honor this historic milestone. From the onboard video to the volunteer work our crewmembers will take part in, we’re honoring the people who have defended our nation and continue to protect the ideals that move us forward.”

"I'm proud to see JetBlue join in on celebrating America’s 250th anniversary," said U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy. "JetBlue's patriotic plane embodies the great American spirit and reminds passengers our nation is worth celebrating."

Bringing the Celebration Onboard

Continuing the celebration of this milestone in the nation’s history, JetBlue also announced a series of special initiatives to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, including a limited-time inflight video showcased onboard all JetBlue flights and a veteran-focused service initiative.

The special inflight video honors the United States and its 250-year history, as well as the nation’s veterans and the airline’s own crewmembers. Narrated by JetBlue’s chief operating officer and U.S. Navy veteran, Warren Christie, the video will be available onboard all JetBlue flights throughout July. Customers will also be greeted with a welcome screen featuring the airline’s “250” design. Combined, these will give customers the opportunity to reflect on the country’s anniversary and recognize the people who continue to move the nation forward while traveling across JetBlue’s network.

Crewmembers in Action

This month, JetBlue crewmembers will participate in a volunteer initiative supporting veterans, extending the airline’s commemoration of America’s 250th anniversary into the community.

As part of JetBlue’s longstanding support for U.S. military veterans, the airline’s crewmembers will assemble care packages for veterans, including sock bundles and personalized notes of appreciation, to be distributed to local VA hospitals across JetBlue’s network. This volunteer project provides a meaningful way for JetBlue crewmembers to honor veterans while recognizing the service and sacrifice that have helped shape the nation’s history.

“Service is at the heart of JetBlue’s culture, both to our customers and our communities,” said Geraghty. “This volunteer initiative gives our crewmembers a meaningful way to show gratitude to our veterans, carrying the spirit of America’s 250th anniversary beyond the airport and into the communities we serve.”

JetBlue’s ‘Vets in Blue’ crewmember resource group will also activate local volunteer opportunities throughout the airline’s network.

Veterans Take Flight

JetBlue is proud to celebrate all of its crewmembers with military service, whose leadership, honor and dedication continue to strengthen the company’s culture throughout its operation.

JetBlue supports veterans and military families through a variety of initiatives, including:

Vets in Blue, JetBlue’s crewmember resource group, which fosters community, support and engagement among veteran crewmembers and allies.

The Gateway Rotor Transition Program, which provides U.S. military-trained helicopter pilots a pathway to become JetBlue first officers through fixed-wing instruction and flight-time building opportunities.

An annual military hiring event at JetBlue University, hosted in partnership with Vets in Blue and external military organizations, that welcomes active-duty service members, veterans and their families to explore career opportunities across the airline.

SPECIAL COLOURS - JetBlue Celebrates Dominican Pride with ‘Quisqueya la Bluebella’ Aircraft Livery

The airline’s first aircraft honoring an international destination, the vibrant, community-selected design honors Dominican culture and JetBlue’s deep-rooted connection to the country

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU), the largest airline serving the Dominican Republic, today unveiled Quisqueya la Bluebella at Santo Domingo’s Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), a vibrant new aircraft livery celebrating Dominican pride and a major milestone for the airline. The newly designed Airbus A320 honors the country’s rich culture and JetBlue’s deep connection to the Dominican community. Created by Dominican artist Willy Gómez, the design was chosen by the public earlier this year.

The name Quisqueya la Bluebella is a playful nod to the beloved patriotic phrase “Quisqueya la Bella,” reimagined with JetBlue’s signature flair. The design was introduced during a celebratory event in Santo Domingo, where customers, community members, local leaders, and JetBlue crewmembers gathered to celebrate Dominican culture and see the aircraft up close.

“When we flew to Santiago for the first time in 2004, we started building a connection with the Dominican Republic that has only grown stronger over the last two decades,” said Marty St. George, JetBlue’s president. “Quisqueya la Bluebella truly celebrates the pride, the passion and the culture of the Dominican community that has been such an important part of JetBlue’s journey. We were blown away by Willy Gómez’s design and the heart he poured into it. It’s bold, beautiful, and impossible to miss. Seeing this aircraft take to the skies is really special for us, and I hope it stands as a reminder to this community of how proud we are to be a part of it.”

A tribute to Dominican culture, identity, and connection

Through Gómez’s artistic eye, the aircraft’s creative design is meant to capture the spirit of the Dominican Republic through color and movement. Flowing lines and dynamic shapes echo the rhythm of merengue and bachata, while vibrant tropical tones reflect its warmth, resilience and energy, bringing to life the essence of everyday Dominican life.

From the Dominican Republic to communities across JetBlue’s network, and among its many Dominican crewmembers, it stands as a powerful symbol of belonging and shared identity. The phrase “Tamo’ aquí” (“We’re here”), featured on the aircraft belly, reinforces JetBlue’s ongoing presence and commitment—both at home and abroad. Today, JetBlue is the largest airline serving the Dominican Republic, with service to Santo Domingo, Santiago, Punta Cana, and Puerto Plata.

Quisqueya la Bluebella features design elements including:
The dominoes game, a beloved part of everyday Dominican life Traditional musical instruments such as the tambora, güira, and accordion, representing the rhythm of merengue and bachata

The Cigüa Palmera, the national bird, symbolizing Dominican identity

Vibrant Dominican flowers that reflect the nation’s natural beauty

The Alcázar de Colón, honoring the country’s rich history

Palm trees and ocean waves, representing the Dominican Republic’s landscapes and coastal culture

Contemporary street-art influences that highlight modern Dominican creativity

“The design represents a graphic synthesis of Dominican identity, reflecting elements of its culture, climate, and wildlife; a combination of qualities dancing together, giving life and rhythm to our nation,” said Willy Gómez. “I feel incredibly proud to be able to represent Dominican culture through a project like this, as it serves as a bridge and inspiration between Dominicans and the rest of the world. For me, it represents a childhood dream come true.”

Elevating Dominican creativity through art

In January, JetBlue launched its RD Orgullo que Eleva (DR Pride That Lifts) campaign, inviting customers, fans and members of the public to help select a design that would celebrate the Dominican Republic through a special aircraft livery. The campaign featured three concepts created by Dominican artists, Gómez, Los Plebeyos, and Lena Tolkens, each offering their interpretation of the Dominican culture, with Gómez’s design selected by the community.

At the heart of the campaign was JetBlue’s commitment to amplify authentic voices and celebrate local talent. Extending this effort beyond the design, JetBlue partnered with Centro Educativo Hogar Andres Boca Chica ahead of the unveiling. Led by Gómez, the initiative engaged and inspired the next generation of Dominican creatives through the creation of a community mural, which was showcased at today’s unveiling event. As part of this initiative, JetBlue also made a donation to support the organization’s ongoing work in the community.

Deepening ties with the Dominican Republic and its diaspora

As a part of the communities it serves, this summer JetBlue will celebrate the Dominican Republic and its diaspora as an official sponsor of the Dominican Day Parade in New York City on August 9. A float inspired by the newly unveiled Quisqueya la Bluebella design will make a special appearance, bringing the celebration to one of the largest Dominican communities outside of the Dominican Republic.

This summer, JetBlue will operate an average of 45 daily flights to and from the Dominican Republic, strengthening connections between the country, the United States and the Caribbean. The airline offers the most routes between the Dominican Republic and the U.S. than any other carrier, reinforcing its position as the lead airline in the country.

Most recently, JetBlue announced additional daily flights from Fort Lauderdale to high-demand destinations, including Santo Domingo and Santiago, starting July 9, further expanding access and meeting growing travel demand. Beyond its network, JetBlue continues to invest in and support communities across the Dominican Republic through meaningful local partnerships, JetBlue Foundation grants, and meaningful local initiatives that help expand opportunities for schools and community programs across the country.

SPECIAL COLOURS - Returning to the Runway: JetBlue Debuts ‘Blueprint II’ on an Airbus A220

The airline’s iconic “see-through” design returns with new details and icons that reflect JetBlue’s history, network and spirit of exploration

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) today began scheduled flying on ‘Blueprint II,’ a reimagined take on one of the airline’s most beloved special liveries, now featured on a brand-new Airbus A220.

First introduced in 2017 on an Embraer E190, the original Blueprint livery became an instant standout across JetBlue’s fleet for its imaginative “see-through” design, which blended illustrations of everyday travel items with the aircraft’s mechanical structure. Inspired by stories from crewmembers and customers alike, the design featured everything from slices of pizza to potted plants, capturing the joy, personality and memorable moments that define travel in a distinctly JetBlue way. Retired in 2024 as part of JetBlue’s broader fleet transition, the livery remained a favorite among customers, crewmembers and aviation enthusiasts.

Now reimagined for the Airbus A220, Blueprint II builds on the original concept with bolder visuals, greater detail and new hidden touches throughout the aircraft. The updated design includes a collection of icons that celebrate JetBlue’s network, heritage and spirit of exploration, including:

Blueprint II also includes dozens of additional “Easter eggs” hidden throughout the livery, giving customers and plane spotters new details to discover with every glance.

“Our aircraft liveries are an important expression of the JetBlue brand and the humanity that defines our customer experience,” said Marty St. George, president, JetBlue. “Blueprint II honors a design our customers and crewmembers have loved for years, while celebrating the personal journeys, memories and sense of discovery that continue to shape the JetBlue experience.”

With the retirement of its Embraer E190 fleet on September 9, 2025, JetBlue completed its transition to an all-Airbus fleet, anchored by next-generation A220 and A320 aircraft. Blueprint II continues JetBlue’s award-winning tradition of using aircraft design as an extension of the brand, creating liveries that spark curiosity, invite discovery and connect with customers in unexpected ways.

SPECIAL COLOURS - JetBlue Reveals Community-Chosen Livery Celebrating the Dominican Republic

Designed by Dominican artist Willy Gómez, the aircraft will debut this spring

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU), the largest airline serving the Dominican Republic, today proudly announces that a vibrant design by artist Willy Gómez has been selected for its first-ever special aircraft livery honoring the Dominican Republic. Chosen by public vote, the design celebrates the country’s rich cultural identity while underscoring JetBlue’s long-standing commitment to the Dominican community.

The livery is part of RD Orgullo que Eleva (DR Pride That Lifts), a campaign developed in collaboration with Dominican artists to elevate local talent and showcase the cultural pride, creativity, and spirit of the Dominican Republic.

“We’re proud to bring Dominican pride to the skies with JetBlue’s first livery dedicated to the Dominican Republic, designed by Willy Gómez and chosen by the community,” said Marty St. George, president of JetBlue. “This aircraft is a celebration of the culture, creativity, and energy of a country that has played a central role in JetBlue’s history. From opening Santiago, our first international destination in 2004, to becoming the largest airline serving the Dominican Republic, we are excited to celebrate more than two decades of service and connection.”

“Seeing this art take flight is seeing my roots rise,” said Willy Gómez. “It’s a tribute to my country, to its color, its energy, and the inspiration that has been with me always."

Launched in January, the RD Orgullo que Eleva campaign invited customers and fans to vote for their favorite design among three original concepts created by Dominican artists including Gómez, Los Plebeyos, and Lena Tolkens. Each design offered a distinct interpretation of Dominican culture, drawing inspiration from folklore, music, everyday life, nature, family, and national symbolism through each artist’s unique creative lens. JetBlue is grateful to the three artists for their creativity and passion, which brought powerful and authentic perspectives to this celebration.

Following an enthusiastic public response, the selected design will take flight later this spring on a JetBlue Airbus A320. More than a visual transformation, the livery serves as a flying tribute to the Dominican Republic and the millions of customers who share a deep connection to the country. It also reflects JetBlue’s continued investment and commitment to bringing together family and friends, supporting tourism and the local economy, and promoting the Dominican Republic as a dynamic, must-visit destination.

With more than 20 years of experience as an art director, illustrator, and muralist, Gómez draws on Neo-traditional and Art Nouveau influences to celebrate Dominican culture. His design captures the country’s rhythm and warmth through expressive linework, tropical motifs, and bold color contrasts inspired by music, dance, and coastal life. The aircraft will serve as a powerful symbol of Dominican pride and presence carrying that spirit across JetBlue’s network.

Created in collaboration with three Dominican artists, the initiative celebrates the country’s rich cultural identity and JetBlue’s more than two decades of connection and service there.

Drawing inspiration from national folklore, color, music, and cultural pride, the artists translated Dominican heritage into custom aircraft designs. More than 20 years of commitment to the Dominican Republic

SPECIAL COLOURS - De Puerto Rico al Cielo: JetBlue Unveils Isla del Bluencanto, Boricua-Inspired Painted Aircraft

Airline’s newest livery, chosen by the public, celebrates Puerto Rico’s creativity and cultural pride, featuring unique icons and elements of Isla del Encanto while showcasing local artistic talent

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU), Puerto Rico’s largest airline, today unveiled Isla del Bluencanto, a vibrant new aircraft livery designed by Puerto Rican artist Juan Gutiérrez Rovira, also known as The Stencil Network. Selected by public vote in March, the bold design of the newly unveiled Airbus A320 celebrates Puerto Rico’s rich culture and spirit while showcasing iconic symbols of Puerto Rican heritage.

The name Isla del Bluencanto combines Puerto Rico’s affectionate nickname, Isla del Encanto, with JetBlue, symbolizing the bond between the island and the airline. The aircraft’s new look was revealed today at The Flight Park in San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), where community members, local leaders, and JetBlue crewmembers gathered to celebrate the colorful tribute to the island.

"Puerto Rico has been at the heart of JetBlue’s story since we launched service to the island in 2002, and we are honored to dedicate our newest special livery, Isla del Bluencanto, to this vibrant community," said Marty St. George, JetBlue’s president. "Created by a homegrown artist as a tribute to the island, the design reflects Puerto Rico's pride and heritage while reaffirming JetBlue’s deep and lasting commitment. Isla del Bluencanto is a celebration of Puerto Rico’s culture, history, and people, and with this aircraft, we proudly carry a piece of the island wherever it flies, inspiring more travelers to discover this beautiful destination."

“We thank JetBlue for its continued investment in Puerto Rico and for honoring our people and culture through Isla del Bluencanto,” said Puerto Rico Governor Jenniffer González-Colón. “This initiative supports economic development, strengthens our tourism sector, and highlights Puerto Rico’s vital role within the United States. With JetBlue as a trusted private-sector partner, we are proud to showcase the strength, talent, and determination of Puerto Ricans to travelers from across the nation and around the world.”

“Expanding air access and increasing promotional opportunities remain top priorities for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company as we continue strengthening the Island’s position as a leading travel destination,” said Willianette Robles Cancel, Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “A robust and growing route network is essential to the economic development of Puerto Rico’s tourism sector. We are proud to continue our partnership with JetBlue, whose commitment to expanding connectivity with key markets across the Americas is vital to our efforts. Today, we are especially excited to unveil this new aircraft livery, which proudly carries Puerto Rico’s image across the skies and reinforces our shared mission of showcasing the Island to the world.”

“We enthusiastically celebrate this JetBlue initiative, which extraordinarily elevates the richness of Puerto Rican culture and projects our destination through its designs and in the minds of travelers,” said Jorge L. Pérez, Chief Executive Officer of Discover Puerto Rico. “No other place in the world offers an authentically Boricua experience like ours, with its unmatched blend of flavors, music, dance, and history. JetBlue, as a close ally of our tourism industry, honors us with this cultural tribute showcased on one of its aircraft.”

“On behalf of Aerostar Puerto Rico and the 8,000 professionals who are part of the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport community, we proudly celebrate JetBlue’s initiative to showcase Puerto Rico’s rich culture and identity,” said Jorge Hernández, President and CEO of Aerostar. “This initiative underscores the extraordinary talent of our people and brings well-deserved recognition to our artists.”

Isla del Bluencanto: A Tribute in Flight

Featuring iconic cultural symbols, Isla del Bluencanto stands as both a celebration of the island’s people, including many proud JetBlue crewmembers, and a visual connection between Puerto Rico and its diaspora living across JetBlue’s network. More than a design, it is a powerful emblem of Puerto Rican pride, allowing Boricuas to feel seen, connected, and represented, while also showcasing the island as a premier destination. The livery incorporates iconic design elements including:

The Jíbaro: At the heart of the design is the iconic jíbaro figure, proudly placed on the tail. Portraying the nobility and resilience of Puerto Rico’s rural heritage, the jíbaro is shown with his harvest, an image chosen not only for its historical and visual impact, but as an aspirational symbol of the values that unite Puerto Ricans in both celebration and adversity.

Fruits and Flora of the Island: Surrounding the design are vibrant depictions of Puerto Rico’s tropical fruits and native flora, capturing the island’s spirit, warmth, and rich biodiversity. These colorful elements add movement and life, reflecting the rhythm and joy embedded in everyday Puerto Rican culture.

"Somos Boricua": Underscoring the message from every angle, the phrase "Somos Boricua" ("We are Puerto Rico") is emblazoned on the belly of the aircraft. It serves as a bold declaration of identity, unity, and pride, visible from below as the aircraft travels across the skies.

“Designing Isla del Bluencanto has been an honor and an unforgettable experience,” said Juan Gutiérrez. “Creating this design inspired by Puerto Rico is my way of paying tribute to the island where I was born and raised. I chose the jíbaro, fruits, and flowers to reflect the richness of our culture and the pride of our people. On the belly of the plane, I added the words ‘SOMOS BORICUA’ along with our flag so there is no doubt about who we are and where we come from. My wish is for this plane to be a living symbol of Puerto Rico.”

Celebrating Puerto Rican Art and Community

Earlier this year, JetBlue launched an initiative inviting fans and customers to vote for their favorite livery design from three concepts created by Puerto Rican artists Juan Gutiérrez, Elizabeth Barreto, and Natalia Nicole. Gutiérrez’s design ultimately received the most votes. The debut of Isla del Bluencanto marks the second special livery design JetBlue has dedicated to Puerto Rico, following Bluericua in 2018.

Building on this celebration of local talent, just a day before the livery unveiling, JetBlue partnered with the Ricky Martin Foundation, a nonprofit based on the island. Guided by The Stencil Network, local children were invited to design their own tailfin, and their creations were proudly displayed at today’s aircraft event. The initiative showcased the next generation of Puerto Rican creativity and reinforced JetBlue’s commitment to community engagement. As part of this partnership, JetBlue also made a donation to support the foundation’s ongoing programs, helping expand opportunities for youth across Puerto Rico.

JetBlue’s Commitment to Puerto Rico

JetBlue has maintained strong ties with Puerto Rico for more than 23 years, continually strengthening its position as the island’s largest carrier over that time with expanded service from San Juan, Aguadilla, and Ponce. Since 2012, San Juan has served as one of JetBlue’s six major focus cities.

This winter, the airline will operate more than 45 daily flights to and from Puerto Rico as it continues to expand its network, adding more flights between the island, key mainland cities, Latin America and the Caribbean. JetBlue offers more seats from Puerto Rico to the continental U.S. and international destinations than any other airline, along with the most destinations to the U.S. mainland, reaffirming its role as the island’s leading carrier.

Most recently, JetBlue announced increased service on the popular Fort Lauderdale–San Juan route to meet growing demand, making it easier for Puerto Ricans to travel for business, leisure, or to reconnect with loved ones. Beyond air service, JetBlue remains committed to Puerto Rico’s future by partnering with local organizations to boost tourism, create jobs, and invest in Puerto Rico’s communities.

The airline employs nearly 800 crewmembers on the island, underscoring its role as both a major employer and a vital contributor to Puerto Rico’s economy. In December 2024, JetBlue opened its first crew base outside the continental U.S. in San Juan, beginning with inflight crewmembers and expanding this year to include San Juan-based pilots.

The plane’s belly, engines, tail, and doors all boast prominent Jets logos and branding, making the team visible to both customers and plane spotters on the ground and in the sky.

A long-time partner of the New York Jets, JetBlue became the team’s Official Airline in 2009 and later reaffirmed that commitment with a livery design dedicated to the team one year later. “JetGreen” originally debuted in 2010, becoming the first sports-themed aircraft to join JetBlue’s fleet, before an updated Jets-themed plane was launched in 2017. The partnership has since expanded to include joint marketing, in-stadium activations and exclusive promotions for more than 15 years.

The aircraft’s new look was revealed at a celebratory event in Boston where both brands have deep roots and a loyal following.

Now, the two iconic brands are taking their partnership to new heights as the aircraft makes its way across JetBlue’s network.

“Dunkin’ has been part of the JetBlue journey for nearly two decades, and we’re proud to showcase this partnership with a livery that’s as fun and bold as the brands behind it,” said Marty St. George, president, JetBlue. “With our shared Boston heritage and focus on delighting loyal customers, this collaboration brings together two fan-favorite brands in a way only JetBlue and Dunkin’ can.”

“This is about more than coffee in the sky; it’s about two beloved brands coming together through a shared passion for meeting people where they are and fueling them on their journey,” said Scott Murphy, president of Dunkin’. “From Boston to beyond, we’re proud to see our iconic pink and orange take flight with JetBlue and celebrate the fans who’ve made Dunkin’ part of their everyday ritual, even at 35,000 feet.”

SPECIAL LIVERY - JetBlue Launches Contest to Select New Livery Celebrating Puerto Rico

JetBlue partners with Puerto Rican artists to showcase the vibrant culture of ‘La Isla Del Encanto’ through a special aircraft livery design

Voting is open now through March 1; winning design to be unveiled this summer

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU), Puerto Rico’s largest airline, is turning up the sazón with a brand-new initiative celebrating the island’s vibrant culture and heritage. JetBlue is launching a contest to create a stunning new aircraft livery inspired by Puerto Rico, designed in collaboration with three talented Puerto Rican artists. The winning design will proudly take flight on a JetBlue Airbus A320 later this summer, bringing Boricua flair to the skies. This marks JetBlue’s second Puerto Rico-dedicated livery, following the debut of a plane named Bluericua back in 2018.

Each of the three renowned artists has created a distinctive design that reflects Puerto Rico, and now, the public is invited to help select the winning look. Voting is open now through March 11 , giving customers and fans the opportunity to play a role in bringing this special livery to life. The final design will be unveiled in March before taking to the skies as JetBlue’s latest flying work of art this summer.

"Puerto Rico has been a part of JetBlue’s story for more than 20 years, and we are proud to showcase the island’s beauty and spirit, as well as some of its outstanding artists through this new livery search,” said Jayne O’Brien, head of marketing and customer support, JetBlue. “We take pride in connecting our customers to and from Puerto Rico, but most importantly, in celebrating the people who make the island so special. This livery represents more than just a beautiful design—it’s a tribute to the island’s resilience, creativity, and rich culture. We wish we could pick all three, but we’re excited to see which design resonates most with the public and can’t wait to bring it to life.”

“We appreciate JetBlue’s continued commitment to Puerto Rico, now dedicating a second aircraft to showcase our Island’s distinctive heritage,” said Jenniffer González, governor of Puerto Rico. “This initiative not only strengthens our long-time partnership with the airline, but also provides an incredible platform for our talented artists. We encourage everyone to participate and vote to help select a design that will proudly represent our culture in the skies.”

“We are excited to support this effort, which celebrates Puerto Rico’s cultural richness and artistic talent,” said Willianette Robles, executive director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “Showcasing our Island on another JetBlue aircraft will enhance our visibility in other markets, reinforcing our identity as a top destination in the Caribbean. This is a unique opportunity to promote creativity while sharing our story with travelers everywhere.”

Meet the Artists

JetBlue is honored to collaborate with three distinguished Puerto Rican artists for this initiative. Each artist brings a unique perspective and artistic style that reflects the spirit and heritage of Puerto Rico. Each has been compensated for their time.

Elizabeth Barreto: Drawing from pop culture and her signature portrait and illustration style, visual artist Elizabeth Barreto creates a vibrant tribute to Puerto Rico. Her design captures the island’s beauty by day and night—celebrating the beaches, the lively nighttime rhythm, and the coquí's iconic song.

Juan Gutierrez: Better known as ‘The Stencil Network,’ Juan, is a visual artist celebrated for his mastery of stencil techniques. His work has been showcased in Puerto Rico, New York, and Vienna. His design was inspired by iconic symbols of Puerto Rican identity - from the proud "Jíbaro" figure on the tail to the island's colorful fruits and plants.

Natalia Nicole: Known as 2BLEENE (“double N” in Spanish), Natalia is a Puerto Rican native now bringing her talents to Europe. Her art combines contemporary abstraction with her love for flowers and nature. Inspired by the bold colors of JetBlue and the Puerto Rican flag, her design is a vibrant tribute to Puerto Rico’s lush flora - from the Azucena, carambola, Cruz de Malta, and the iconic hibiscus.

JetBlue’s Commitment to Puerto Rico

JetBlue has been part of Puerto Rico’s community for over 20 years and continues to grow its presence on the island. In December 2024, JetBlue opened its first crew base outside the continental U.S. in San Juan, starting with inflight crewmembers. This expansion has created jobs and strengthened the airline's connection to the local economy. San Juan-based pilots are expected to join the base in spring of this year.

JetBlue has also recently expanded its network, adding more flights between Puerto Rico, key mainland cities, and the Caribbean. In Puerto Rico, JetBlue provides service from San Juan, Aguadilla and Ponce. With increased service, the airline is making it easier for Puerto Ricans to travel for business, leisure, or to reconnect with loved ones. JetBlue remains committed to Puerto Rico’s future—partnering with local organizations to boost tourism, create jobs, and support cultural preservation.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU), New England’s leading leisure airline, is elevating transatlantic travel with the launch of two exciting new routes to Madrid and Edinburgh. Starting May 22, 2025, JetBlue will introduce daily nonstop seasonal service between Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD), marking its debut in Spain and expanding its European footprint 1 .

On the same day, JetBlue will also kick off daily seasonal flights between Boston Logan and Edinburgh Airport (EDI) in Scotland. This new route will join JetBlue’s popular summer seasonal service between New York’s JFK Airport and Edinburgh, giving travelers even more ways to experience the charm of Scotland's historic capital. Both routes, along with all of JetBlue’s European destinations, are now available for booking.

“Madrid and Edinburgh represent two of Europe’s most exciting and popular destinations, and we’re happy to offer even more transatlantic travel options for our customers from Boston and New England,” said Daniel Shurz, head of revenue, network and enterprise planning at JetBlue. “Europe continues to be part of our network strategy, as our loyal customers look for JetBlue's signature service and low fares to bring them to top leisure destinations, including across the Atlantic."

Since its entrance into the European market over three years ago, JetBlue’s reputation has quickly grown as the airline of choice for affordable, customer-focused, and premium transatlantic travel.

Optimizing JetBlue’s European Service with JetForward

JetBlue's new Boston flights to Madrid and Edinburgh support its JetForward strategy to build the best East Coast leisure network and return to sustained profitability. Edinburgh and Madrid will join JetBlue’s existing transatlantic seasonal service from Boston to Amsterdam, Dublin, and London-Gatwick, and year-round flights to London-Heathrow and Paris. In summer 2025, JetBlue will offer 7 daily nonstops from Boston to Europe.

From New York-JFK, JetBlue serves Dublin and Edinburgh seasonally, while Amsterdam, London-Heathrow, and Paris are served year-round. Based on their popularity, returning routes to Dublin and Edinburgh have been extended this year to the end of October, a month later than the previous year.

“Since launching flights to London in 2021, we’ve thoughtfully adjusted our European service to maximize value for our customers and our business,” said Shurz. “By aligning our schedule with peak seasonal demand and flying our aircraft to other destinations in the off-season, we’re capitalizing from a business perspective while delivering the destinations and experiences our customers love. This approach is driving meaningful results.”

Customers across JetBlue’s network can connect through Boston and New York as gateways to their next European adventure or, via Europe, both focus cities serve as a gateway to JetBlue’s many destinations throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.
