FLEET - BBN Airlines Indonesia Expanding Fleet with Airbus A320

BBN Airlines Indonesia is preparing for its next phase of growth in 2026 with the addition of three Airbus A320-200 aircraft to complement its existing Boeing 737-800 fleet.

SPECIAL LIVERY - Eintracht livery to take off on modern A320neo

Condor is modernizing its short- and medium-haul fleet. As part of this process, the Eintracht aircraft will also get a successor: in spring 2027, an Airbus A320neo is scheduled to replace the current A320ceo registered as “D-ASGE”. The aircraft’s distinctive black-and-white stripes and the Eintracht eagle on the tail will remain almost unchanged. The cabin design is also set to be retained as far as technically possible, with only a few optimized details added.

The new A320neo will have 180 seats and, like its predecessor, will operate scheduled and charter flights. The aircraft differ in their engines and wing aerodynamics due to their design.

Fans to choose the new registration

Because the aircraft will be joining the fleet while the current aircraft is still in service, the new A320neo will have a different registration—and fans will decide which one. The options are D-AFRA, referencing Frankfurt Airport; D-AFFM, for Frankfurt am Main; and D-AEIN, for Eintracht Frankfurt. The community can cast its vote in the comments on Condor’s Instagram post through 29 October 2026. The registration receiving the most votes is set to appear on the new aircraft.

The new Eintracht aircraft is expected to take to the skies from spring 2027. The current D-ASGE is scheduled to leave the fleet a few weeks later. Condor is planning a seamless transition to ensure that the Eintracht livery remains part of the fleet throughout.

FLEET - Fastjet Zimbabwe to extend A320 ops to 4Q26

Fastjet Zimbabwe (FN, Harare International) will extend the operation of its wet-leased A320-200 from Global Aviation Operations to the end of October 2026 following stronger-than-expected passenger demand, with the aircraft also set to return for the December peak travel season.

In a statement, the airline said that the 168-seater ZS-GAC (msn 2496), which entered service on August 1, 2026, to support high-demand flights between Harare International and Johannesburg O.R. Tambo and Victoria Falls and Johannesburg, had seen sustained demand from both business and leisure travellers. The aircraft had originally been scheduled to operate only during the August-September peak.

Fastjet Zimbabwe business CEO and country head Donahue Cortes said the extension would ensure sufficient capacity during October and the December festive period, adding that the airline's recently introduced business class product had been well received by corporate and leisure passengers alike.

The A320 deployment forms part of a broader fleet evaluation that could see the type join the fleet permanently in 2027. Cortes previously said the wet lease would allow Fastjet Zimbabwe to assess the aircraft's suitability for its network before making a long-term fleet decision.

Fastjet Group CEO Kirsten King previously said the upgauge had removed the need to source additional E145 capacity for the peak months and that larger Embraer aircraft were no longer under consideration.

Fastjet Zimbabwe had been seeking additional capacity on its flagship Harare-Johannesburg route, where it was competing with 50-seater E145s against FlySafair's twice-daily B737-800 services, South African Airways' twice-daily A320-200 operations, and Airlink (South Africa)'s six daily E190 flights.

ROUTES - Kyrgyz carrier resumes operations on Bishkek–Tashkent route

Aero Nomad to compete with Uzbek operators Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air.
Kyrgyzstan-based privately-held carrier Aero Nomad inaugurated scheduled passenger services between Bishkek (BSZ) and Tashkent (TAS) on August 23. The route connecting the two Central Asian capitals will operate twice weekly using Airbus A320 narrowbody aircraft.

Aero Nomad fills the void left by Kyrgyz private operator TezJet, whose Air Operator Certificate (AOC) was revoked in July following a serious safety incident.

The move restores three-carrier competition on the sector, joining Uzbek operators Uzbekistan Airways and Centrum Air. Market capacity could expand further as Kyrgyz state-owned startup Asman Airlines has also signaled intent to enter the market. According to Uzbekistan Airports management company, Aero Nomad is eyeing broader regional expansion with prospective routes linking Bishkek to Samarkand and Urgench.

Aero Nomad Airlines launched operations in November 2021 from its primary base at Manas International Airport in Bishkek. The airline operates a fleet of Airbus A320s, serving a network of some 20 destinations across Central and South Asia, Russia, and the Middle East.

FLEET - Timor-Leste's Aero Dili mulling third aircraft in 2027

Aero Dili (8G, Dili) is considering adding a third aircraft in 2027 as limited availability across its existing fleet constrains further network expansion, executive director Lourenço de Oliveira told the Timor-Leste news agency Tatoli.
The airline currently lacks sufficient aircraft availability to add a proposed Dili-Kupang
service, de Oliveira said, as its fleet is already deployed on routes to Australia,
Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and China.
The airline executive held talks with Indonesia's East Nusa Tenggara governor Emanuel
Melkiades Laka Lena over possible Aero Dili services to Kupang.
But the airline was not ready to launch the route in the near term and could instead wait until 2027, when it may add another aircraft.
ch-aviation data shows Aero Dili currently operates two Airbus narrowbodies: A320-
200 4W-AAL (msn 3672) and A319-100 4W-AAO (msn 2825).
The A320 joined the carrier when it launched in 2023 and the A319 two years later.
In December 2022, de Oliveira said the airline aimed to operate at least three aircraft,
with a second due within six months of its first A320 and another around two years later.
The second aircraft ultimately joined in 2025, while a third has yet to materialise.

Heston Airlines plans up to 30 narrowbodies

Heston Airlines (HN, Vilnius) plans to expand its fleet to up to 30 narrowbody aircraft by 2031, the chief executive officer of the Lithuanian ACMI specialist, Jonas Rinkauskas, shared in a statement on the airline's fifth anniversary.

According to ch-aviation data, it currently operates ten A320-200s, which are deployed on wet lease contracts for customers including AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines and Condor. Heston is wet leasing in one additional A320-200 from Valletta Airlines.

Heston Airlines said the additional aircraft will be deployed across different regions throughout the year to reduce its reliance on seasonal markets. Chief executive Jonas Rinkauskas said the next stage of growth will focus on "global diversification."

The fleet target is not entirely new. In 2023, maintenance provider J&C Aero said the carrier planned to expand its Airbus fleet to 30 aircraft, including widebodies, "over three years" as part of a continuous airworthiness management agreement.

While the carrier specialises in ACMI services, it also offers weekly scheduled flights from Tallinn Lennart Meri to Irakleion.
