Turkish carrier MNG Airlines has deployed an Airbus A321-200P2F freighter with Air Algérie, marking a temporary boost to the national airline’s cargo capacity as it gradually expands its logistics operations.

ORDERS - Türkiye's MNG Airlines signs MoU for 2 A350Fs

MNG Airlines (MB, Istanbul Airport) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the potential purchase of two A350Fs. The agreement was signed on June 18 during the 2025 Paris Air Show.

The freighters "will support both our scheduled and charter operations and give us added flexibility to meet evolving cargo demands, from e-commerce to high-value freight and express logistics,” said Murathan Doruk Günal, the chairman of MNG Airlines.

According to the ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module, MNG Airlines operates one A300-600F, one inactive A300-600R(F) (with two more wet-leased from affiliate carrier Solinair), two A321-200(P2F)s, two A330-200Fs, and four A330-300(P2F)s.

Fleet Modernization - MNG Airlines adds first A321-200(P2F)

MNG Airlines (MB, Istanbul Airport) has taken delivery of its first narrowbody freighter, an A321-200(P2F), and plans to take a second of the type "in the near future".

TC-MYA (msn 3369) was converted at Singapore Seletar by ST Engineering. It was ferried via Delhi International and Erzurum to Istanbul Airport over the course of June 30-July 1, 2023, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It has yet to be deployed into revenue service. The 15.5-year-old jet was formerly in passenger service with Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad International) and Cathay Pacific (CX, Hong Kong International).

The aircraft joins MNG Airlines' all-widebody fleet comprising one A300-600F, three A300-600R(F)s, one A330-200F, and two A330-300(P2F).

The cargo specialist, which is in the process of listing on the New York Stock Exchange via a reverse IPO, did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment regarding its future fleet plans.

Turkey's MNG Airlines withdraws last A300B4 freighter from service

MNG Airlines  has concluded operations with its ageing fleet of A300B4 freighters, the last of which, TC-MNJ (cn 123), was recently withdrawn from service and parked, ch-aviation has learned. It does however, continue to use five A300-600(F)s, a single A330-200(F) and a single B737-400(F) on its extensive freight network.

MNG Airlines takes delivery of its first A330-200F

Newest operator of world’s most efficient mid-size freighter

MNG Airlines, Turkey’s dedicated freight operator, has taken delivery of its first of four A330-200Fs on order. Today the airline already operates a fleet of seven A300 cargo aircraft, and will expand its services by moving up to the A330 Freighter.

Sedat Özkazanç, Managing Director of MNG Airlines said: “Holding a big portion of the cargo capacity in Turkey, MNG Airlines is delighted to introduce the A330-200F into our fleet.” He adds: “This new Airbus freighter aircraft will help our continued growth by providing superior fuel efficiency, capacity and range for our customers together with both charter and scheduled flights.”

“We are pleased to welcome MNG Airlines as the newest operator of the A330-200F,” said John Leahy, Chief Operating Officer, Customers, Airbus. “This aircraft offers the lowest operating costs in the mid-size category and the ability to match capacity more closely to demand on a wide range of operations.”

Benefiting from the technical superiority and market success of the A330 passenger version, the A330-200F is the world’s most modern mid-size freighter which can carry 70 tonnes of payload, with a range capability of up to 4,000nm. Moreover, in the current market situation with fluctuating demand and dominated by old and less fuel efficient large aircraft, the mid-size freighter A330-200F is the clear way to secure sustained profitability.

The A330-200F’s range and payload capability provides flexibility for both regional and intercontinental operations, versatility to match costs and frequencies with market expectations, thereby allowing operators to grow existing business and expand into new routes. The A330-200F targets the ‘mid-size’ freighter segment which is forecasted to be the core of future freighter demand, and will require more than 1,320 aircraft in the next 20 years.

To date, Airbus has won more than 1,200 orders for the various versions of the A330, with nearly 900 aircraft currently flying with over 120 customers and operators worldwide.
