ROUTES - FlyOne to launch scheduled, charter flights in Romania

FlyOne (Romania) (OE, Chisinau) will begin scheduled and charter operations out of six Romanian airports in 2024, thereby transitioning from a technical capacity provider for its Moldovan sister carrier FlyOne (5F, Chisinau) into a standalone business unit.

The carrier said it would operate services from Bucharest Henri Coanda, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Suceava, Craiova, and Arad to a number of leisure destinations, including Tenerife Sur, Gran Canaria, Kos Hippocrates, Heraklion, Antalya, Burgas, Larnaca, and Hurghada. The expansion is in partnership with the leisure holding Memento Group and its Cristian Tour outfit

FlyOne (Romania) operates a single A320-200 on its AOC but plans to add two A321-200s shortly. So far, the airline has mainly been a technical capacity provider for FlyOne in Moldova, which operates two more A320-200s, while also operating third-party ACMI contracts (most recently for SkyUp MT (U5, Malta International)). The group also includes FlyOne (Armenia) (3F, Yerevan) with one A319-100 and two more A320-200s.

FlyOne has now added the UK to its route map, with the Moldovan carrier on 15 July beginning a weekly (Saturdays) service between Chisinau (KIV) and Birmingham

The latter airport becomes only the third UK connection from the capital of Moldova, with Wizz Air linking to London Luton and Air Moldova operating to London Stansted respectively. FlyOne’s new 2,268-kilometre sector to Birmingham will be flown by the carrier’s fleet of A320s when referring to OAG schedules, with no other airline linking the Moldovan capital to the UK’s second city.

FlyOne leasing an Armenian A320

FlyOne (5F, Chisinau) has wet-leased yet another A320-200 to cater to its summer operational demands. Skyliner Aviation reports EK32008 (cn 229) has been sourced from Armenian ACMI/charter operator Atlantis European Airways (TD, Yerevan) and was delivered earlier this month.
Since then, it has been tracked in service on the Moldovan LCC's Heraklion, St. Petersburg, and Voronezh Chertovitskoye routes.

Aside from one in-house A320-200, FlyOne also operates another of the type on wet-lease from SkyPrimAir (KPM, Chisinau).

Moldova's FlyOne outlines proposed scheduled operations

FlyOne (5F, Chisinau) will inaugurate scheduled operations next month managing director Nicu Berla has announced.

According to TASS, the start-up will serve Barcelona El Prat, Verona, Dublin Int'l, London, Lisbon, Parma, Florence Peretola, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Voronezh Chertovitskoye. FlyOne commenced revenue operations last month offering charter flights from its Chisinau hub to Antalya, Heraklion and Rhodes.

While it operates a single A320-200, ER-AXJ (cn 295), a second is expected by month-end with additional aircraft to be ordered if the need arises.
