DEFUNCT AIRLINES - Zuliana de Aviación C.A. - (1985–1997)

Zuliana de Aviación was a Venezuelan cargo and passenger airline (1985–1997) based in Maracaibo that operated a fleet including Boeing 727s, DC-8s, and notably 5 McDonnell-Douglas DC-9-30s.

The airline served domestic and international destinations before ceasing operations in 1997, with its fleet fully retired by 2002.

Fleet: Included McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32 (e.g., YV-495C) and DC-9-31 (e.g., YV-459C) aircraft.

Operations: Began as a cargo carrier in 1985 before expanding into passenger service.

The airline was named after Zulia state and was a notable operator of older jetliners in Venezuela during the 1990s. 

YV-460C (c/n 45640 l/n 175, series -54CF) was built as teh first series -54CF in 1963 for Trans Canada/Air Canada. 

It was then sold to Cargolux in 1985 and to Arca Colombia just few months later. Zuliana bought the plane from Arca in October 1989. 

It will be retired and scrapped in MIA after the service in Venezuela.
