Domestic regional flights in Portugal suspended by Aero VIP

Aero VIP has terminated its twice daily Dornie 228 service from Lisbon toVila Real and onwards to Braganca on November 27. It had operated on the route for four years under a public service obligation contract with the Portuguese government. The route will no longer be served on a scheduled basis as the government has not issued another tender to award a new contract to an operator and Aero VIP itself is planning to sue the transportation ministry for unpaid subsidies for a period of four months earlier this year. Aero VIP will continue to operate charter flights but does not plan any other scheduled services.
