Japan Airlines confirms June return for Boeing 787

JAL Group has confirmed its Boeing 787-8 aircraft will return to service in sequence after June 1st 2013 after safety tests have been completed on the modified planes.

Boeing has been working around the world to install modified ion batteries on the 50 Dreamliner aircraft currently in operation after being given the go ahead by aviation authorities.

JAL will restart daily service between Tokyo (Narita)-Boston and Tokyo (Narita)-San Diego at the start of July.

The daily non-stop service between Tokyo (Narita)-Helsinki will also be launch from July 1st, after the plan was delayed in February.

JAL also said larger aircraft, including the Boeing 777-200ER replacing the Boeing 767, will be assigned to fly between Japan and Bangkok and Honolulu in order to meet a robust passenger demand and further maximise revenue.
