Air Onix is set to lose its two B737-500s, UR-KRC (msn 26323) & UR-KRD (msn 26324), when lessor, the International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), moves ahead with a planned repossession. The ILFC issued the grounding notices on September 9, 2013. The move comes after the Ukraine recently ratified the Cape Town Convention, a protocol which clearly defines the rights of aircraft owners or lessors in case of a default on payments, allowing them to repossess their equipment expeditiously in the event there is no resolution. As of this writing, Air Onix is however still operate both aircraft on its services.
