Boeing Delivers First Next-Generation 737-800 to Russia’s Rostec

SEATTLE, September 25, 2013 – Boeing [NYSE: BA] today delivered the first Next-Generation 737-800 to Aviation Capital Services LLC, a subsidiary of the State Corporation Russian Technologies (Rostec). Aviation Capital Services has leased the airplane to Russia's flag carrier, Aeroflot.

This delivery is the first of 50 Next-Generation 737s Aviation Capital Services has on order, including 737-800s and 737-900ERs.

"Russian air carriers are greatly in need of medium-range airplanes,” said Roman Pakhomov, CEO of Aviation Capital Services. “We are interested in progressive and innovative products to help us meet those needs. Boeing’s Next-Generation 737 has a reputation for its efficiency and reliability that makes it the world’s best-selling aircraft."

"We appreciate the confidence that Rostec placed in the Next-Generation 737-800 and -900ER, which will deliver unsurpassed fuel efficiency in the single-aisle market as well as improved environmental performance," said Marty Bentrott, Vice President, Sales, Middle East, Russia & Central Asia, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “The 737-800 and -900ER will play a key role in modernizing Aeroflot’s fleet and allow them to integrate into the regional and international commercial aviation system.”

The Boeing 737-800 is one of the best-selling versions of the highly successful Next-Generation 737 family, the most technologically advanced airplanes in the single-aisle market. The Next-Generation 737's market success has been confirmed by investors who consistently rank it as the most preferred single-aisle airplane due to its wide market base, superior performance and efficiency, and lowest operating costs in its class. The Next-Generation 737 family has won orders for more than 6,500 airplanes, while the 737 family has surpassed 11,000 orders to date.

Rostec State Corporation and Boeing are strategic partners on a number of projects in segments of the industry. In 2010 Rostec signed an agreement with Boeing after an open global tender on the supply of medium-range airplanes to renew fleets of Russian airlines, Aeroflot in particular.

Aviation Capital Services LLC is an aircraft leasing company established in Feb. 2011 with 100 percent participation of the Russian Technologies State Corporation. Aviation Capital Services LLC is one of the leading aircraft leasing companies in Russia and CIS.
