Bingo Airways has suspended operations following the revocation of its Polish Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), ch-aviation has learned. As it stands, the Polish charter operator has already seen two of its fleet of three A320s - cn 2118, 1723, and 1450 - struck off its AOC by local authorities.
According to Polish aviation news portal, pasazer.com, Bingo Airways CEO, Marek Sidor, says the suspension will allow his carrier time to craft a new business plan which involves the securing of new contracts as well as recapitalization.
Once funding has been sourced, Bingo Airways will then apply to the Polish Civil Aviation Office (Urząd Lotnictwa Cywilnego - ULC) for a reinstatement of its AOC, he said.
The development has serious ramifications for markets in other parts of Europe - in France in particular where Bingo was to have based aircraft during the upcoming summer season.
As previously reported, the carrier was also to have leased two of its A320s - cn 2118 and 1723 - to PIA - Pakistan International Airlines for the month of July and was also to have cooperated with Polish start-up, 4 you Airlines.
