the Board and Management of the new Eastern Air Lines welcomes the first aircraft in Eastern’s fleet, a Boeing 737-800! The aircraft will be flown into Miami International Airport for the first time on Friday, December 19th at 2:00 p.m. The inaugural arrival will receive a water cannon salute, with a special dedication of the aircraft to “The Spirit of Captain Eddie Rickenbacker," Eastern’s most famous CEO from 1930 to 1965 (and after whom the Rickenbacker Causeway is named)
