Qatar Airways has taken delivery of its first A350-900 A7-ALA (msn 6) as the type's launch customer on December 22 and then ferried the aircraft to Doha on December 23.

The Qatari national carrier is currently operating the aircraft on several daily training flights between Doha and Sharjah.

It plans to put the aircraft into scheduled service from January 15 on one of its two daily Doha-Frankfurt Int'l services. Qatar Airways has a total of 43 A350-900s and 37 A350-1000s on order from Airbus Industrie, Toulouse Blagnac.
