TAP Portugal has expanded its operations to Alicante (ALC), Gran Canaria (LPA), Stuttgart (STR) and Toronto Pearson (YYZ) from Lisbon (LIS) this week, while a weekly (Sundays) 731-kilometre connection between Porto (OPO) and Almeria (LEI) has also been inaugurated.

Of the five routes launched by the Star Alliance member, only Lisbon to Alicante and Porto to Almeria will not face direct competition. Apart from the 5,737-kilometre connection over the Atlantic from the Portuguese capital to Pearson, the remaining four European links have an average sector length of 1,161 kilometres. The average weekly frequency of the five connections is 6.8.
