Qantas commenced two new routes in the last seven days, one domestic and one international. Flights from Sydney (SYD) to Osaka Kansai (KIX) were launched on 14 December.

The 7,775-kilometre route will be flown three times weekly by a mixture of the airline’s A330 fleet, and joins its daily operation to Tokyo Haneda in terms of its services to Japan from Australia’s busiest airport. On 17 December, Qantas also began the 687-kilometre internal link from Melbourne (MEL) to Kingscote (KGC). The three times weekly sector, which is operated by the airline’s Q400s, joins the recently launched services from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island, which began on 4 December
