Cathay Pacific Airways has added Brussels (BRU) to its European network out of Hong Kong (HKG), with the Belgian capital joining Amsterdam, Barcelona, Frankfurt, London’s Heathrow and Gatwick, Madrid, Manchester, Milan Malpensa, Paris CDG, Rome Fiumicino and Zurich.

“This direct flight with Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong is a new milestone for Brussels Airport. We’re delighted to welcome the first non-stop flight between our country and the inspiring metropolis of Hong Kong. The Asia network is now richer with this top destination, for both holidaymakers and business travellers alike,” commented Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport about the new service. Launched 25 March, the oneworld member will offer a four times weekly rotation to Brussels, a 9,362-kilometre sector that will be operated using the airline’s fleet of A350-900s. No direct competition is provided on the route, with this service marking the only connection between Hong Kong and Belgium at the moment. With the commencement of direct flights to Hong Kong, it brings to seven the number of direct destinations available in Asia from Brussels Airport (excluding the Middle East), with Hong Kong joining Beijing, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Tokyo Narita, Mumbai, Shanghai Pudong and Shenzhen
