FlyArystan’s fleet grows to seven aircraft

FlyArystan, the low-cost division of Kazakhstan’s flag carrier Air Astana has taken delivery of yet another Airbus A320-200 – the seventh in its fleet. The aircraft in FlyArystan’s typical layout of 180 economy-class seats will be staged at the airline’s Atyrau base and serve both domestic and international routes, the airline said in a statement.

“The newest addition to our fleet, our seventh plane […] will allow us to offer over half a million extra seats per year to the travelling public at our signature low-fare levels,” FlyArystan’s commercial director Janar Jailauova comments.

Atyrau, sometimes referred to as ‘Kazakhstan’s oil capital’ has served as FlyArystan’s regional base since July 2020, complementing main bases in Almaty and Nur-Sultan. “The launch of Atyrau during this summer proved immediately successful with over 80 thousand passengers carried from and to Atyrau by FlyArystan flights. Atyrau is now linked to eight cities in the FlyArystan network and this number will grow with the additional aircraft,” the LCC said.

FlyArystan launched operations in March 2019 with two Airbus A320 aircraft inherited from its parent. It is proceeding with its plan of having 10 aircraft in its fleet before the end of 2020.
