Korean Air welcomes 1st B737-8



Korean Air welcomed its first B737MAX. The aircraft is a B737-8 and is registered HL8348 (63436). It arrived at Seoul-Gimpo after a delivery flight that started on 11 February and took the aircraft from Seattle-Boeing Field (WA) to Anchorage (AK), then onwards to Tokyo-Narita and finally Seoul.

In total, the airline has ordered 30 B737-8s and it expects to take delivery of five more this year. The aircraft are to be used to replace the airline's older Boeing B737-fleet, which consists of three B737-800s, eleven B737-900s and nine B737-900ERs. Korean Air also has orders for 30 A321neos to renew its fleet with.

Next to the B737s, Korean Air's fleet consists of ten Airbus A220-300s, eight A330-200s, 22 A330-300s, ten A380s, four Boeing B747-400ERFs, nine B747-8s, seven B747-8Fs, twelve B777-200ERs, four B777-300s, 25 B777-300ERs, twelve B777Fs and ten B787-9s.
