Bluebird Nordic was established in 1999 as Bluebird Cargo with its base at Keflavik. The compa was completely owned by Icelandair and launched flights in 2001. In 2010, the airline was sold- Icelandair and in 2017 was renamed into Bluebird Nordic. In 2020, the airline was acquired by A Solutions Group.
The closure of Bluebird Nordic has no impact on the other airlines in the Avia Solutions Group, are Air Explore (Slovakia), Ascend Airways (UK), Avion Express (Lithuania), Avion Express Malta Airlines Indonesia, Klasjet (Lithuania), Magma Aviation (UK), Skytrans Airlines (Australia), Smar (Latvia), SmartLynx Estonia, and SmartLynx Malta.
The Group is the world's largest provider of Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance services has a total fleet of 166 aircraft.
