Although it also operated some smaller aircraft, the majority of the airline's fleet consisted of two Dornier 228s. The airline was based at Harstad/Narvik Airport in Evenes, in the municipality of Evenes.
Commercial operations began in 1996. One of the first contracts was for the delivery of newspapers from Harstad.
In 1999, the airline received two Dornier 228s and started a regular service from Harstad/Narvik to Bodø Airport and Tromsø Airport. The route was not viable and was closed later that year.
In this process, Kato Air took over Helitrans' fixed-wing operations and established a base at Trondheim Airport in Værnes.
From then on, the airline focused on charter flights for oil companies, mainly charter flights from Trondheim to Brønnøysund.
The airline won the Bodø public service obligations for Røst Airport and Narvik Airport, Framnes
in 2003. Later that same year, it also won a major contract with the Norwegian Post Office.
The maintenance certificate was withdrawn on August 28, 2008, and the airline ceased operations on September 1.
