TAAG Angola Airlines has launched ticket sales for its new route linking Luanda and Praia, Cape Verde, with operations scheduled to begin on 12 December 2026. Operating twice weekly, the service will strengthen connectivity between the two countries, expand travel options across Africa and the Portuguese-speaking world, and further support Luanda's position as a strategic regional aviation hub.
By creating seamless connections between their route networks, the two airlines will make it easier for customers to reach more destinations on a single ticket, with baggage checked through to their final destination.
Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair:
"Our partnership with Air China is an important step in strengthening our route network and expanding our network of partner airlines. China is one of the world's most important aviation markets. This agreement lets us offer our customers better connections to many destinations there, while giving Air China's passengers easier access to Iceland."
Qu Guangji, President of China National Aviation Holding Corporation Limited and Air China Limited:
"The Beijing–Reykjavik route, launched by Air China as schedule, is not only China's first, but also currently the only scheduled passenger route connecting East Asia and Southeast Asia directly with Iceland. The codeshare cooperation between Air China and Icelandair will provide passengers of both countries with more convenient travel options, further enhancing the connectivity between the two countries' aviation networks."
