A FRESH NEW LOW COST AIRLINE FOR AUSTRALIAN SKIES STRATEGIC UNVEILS ITS ‘AIR AUSTRALIA’ LIVERY

Strategic Airlines today released the first images of the airline’s new ‘Air Australia’ livery to be introduced later this year.
“The name Air Australia was already marked as our preferred choice and the challenge was the
historic opportunity to create an iconic brand for a new Australian airline and a modern Australian
aviation product,” said Group Managing Director and CEO Michael James.

“The Air Australia symbol is a stylised boomerang, the most striking icon of flight in the Australian lexicon. Green is our key colour with a hint of gold and silver-grey representing gum trees, koalas and grey kangaroos. Because of our company’s strong history as a defence force charter company we have also incorporated the rising sun, also a strong Australian symbol also found on the Australian Army badge.”
Air Australia will be a new low cost carrier by the end of 2011 as Strategic Airlines pursues an
aggressive growth plan, changes name, repositions and launches new domestic and international
routes.
The airline will transition to its new low cost business model from 30 October.
Launched in 2009 and headquartered in Brisbane, Strategic Airlines www.flystrategic.com.au soon
to be Air Australia, is Australia’s newest domestic and international carrier.
Strategic Airlines currently operates scheduled passenger services on routes including MelbournePhuket, Brisbane-Phuket, Brisbane-Bali, Brisbane-Port Hedland and Perth-Derby.  New domestic flights between Melbourne to Brisbane and direct flights from Melbourne to Honolulu and Brisbane to Honolulu will commence from December, 2011. Strategic is also preparing to increase
frequencies to Bali and Phuket.
To support its growing operations, the airline is in the process of doubling its pilot base and adding
a new Melbourne A320 pilot base to its already established A330 base and has recruited 50 new flight attendants for its main trunk route domestic airline operation. Last month the company opened a new Brisbane based engineering subsidiary to service its Airbus fleet.  Strategic Engineering Australia Pty Ltd has to date employed 40 new licensed aircraft maintenance engineers.
The company has also been granted rights to operate services between Australia and China and
Australia and the USA.
