Air Canada leasing two B787-9s from ALC

Air Canada (AC, Montréal Trudeau) has signed long term lease agreements with Air Lease Corporation for two new General Electric-powered B787-9 aircraft.

The US-based lessor's President and Chief Executive Officer, John Plueger, said in a statement on Monday, March 27, that of the Boeing widebody jets, the first was allocated to Blackbird Capital and acquired in January 2017 while the second was delivered on March 24, 2017, and leased from ALC.

The ch-aviation aircraft database shows Air Canada currently operates sixteen B787-9s of which thirteen are owned with the remainder leased from GECAS.
