FLEET - Austrian Airlines ramping up Boeing services for 787-9 fleet expansion

Boeing made this announcement:

Setting a course for continued growth, Austrian Airlines is looking ahead to the delivery of their first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in 2024. Nine additional 787-9 airplanes will join the Austrian Airlines fleet over the next 5 years.

To prepare for the induction of their first Dreamliner, the airline is working closely with Boeing services teams to implement digital maintenance solutions and establish the required parts inventory.

Austrian Airlines recently signed agreements for Boeing digital solutions to support their 787-9 fleet maintenance operations, including Airplane Health Management and Maintenance Performance Toolbox. Additionally, the airline signed agreements that leverage Boeing’s expertise and global distribution network to ensure they have the parts and support they need for their new Dreamliner fleet.

Services to enable success

Boeing Airplane Health Management (AHM) provides prognostics and diagnostics capabilities based on more than 20 years of operator experience data, combined with Boeing domain knowledge on airplane-specific fleet metrics. With these data-driven insights, AHM provides real-time fault information for airplanes while in flight, enabling ground-based staff to make better, faster maintenance decisions. This reduces potential delays and maintenance costs – resulting in improved turn times and operational efficiency.

Boeing Maintenance Performance Toolbox enables airline maintenance teams to improve airplane turn times (regardless of the aircraft OEM) with rapid access to technical documentation, and simplified management of maintenance documents and task card revisions. It can easily be integrated with the airlines’ existing maintenance planning system, and provides mobile device or desktop application access – with or without a Wi-Fi connection.

Boeing Parts and Distribution Services provides tooling and ground support equipment, including tester battery discharges and engine change kits, along with a tailored parts package that provides customized supply chain solutions with guaranteed lead times. Boeing’s comprehensive portfolio provides customers with OEM parts, used serviceable materials, component exchange and leasing programs, integrated material management, single part sales, kits and customized part packages.
