- Vivian Spohr: “Every single handprint on this aircraft stands for solidarity in action”
As a highlight and in appreciation of the 25th anniversary of help alliance, the Lufthansa Group's aid organization, Lufthansa is setting a widely visible sign of solidarity: an Airbus A321neo with the registration D-AIEP is now taking off with a special “Helping Hands” livery. With numerous colorful handprints symbolically donated by supporters, the Airbus will operate on Lufthansa's continental route network and stands for 25 years of commitment, hope and joint efforts for a better future. The donations are used to support help alliance projects that help disadvantaged children and young people around the world.
“Every single handprint on this plane stands for solidarity in action and for the belief that together we can make the world a better place,” says Vivian Spohr, patroness of help alliance. “I would like to thank all our supporters for making this anniversary project possible. For 25 years, help alliance has been creating opportunities for children and young people who would otherwise often have no prospects. As patroness, it is a matter close to my heart to help ensure that we can continue to give hope and a future to many young people in the future.”
The 297 handprints on the A321neo are part of a fundraising campaign in which supporters symbolically leave their handprints on the aircraft. Almost two thirds of the handprints have already been allocated, with some still available for further supporters. There is still the opportunity to become part of this special project. The Airbus A321neo with the lettering “help alliance” is the second ambassador of the Lufthansa Group's aid organization: an aircraft with a special 'Helping Hands' livery has been in service with the Swiss airline Edelweiss since 2022.
Further information on the campaign and the opportunity to become part of the project can be found on the help alliance website: Helping Hands - help alliance
