AV Cargo Airlines, the phoenix that has risen the ashes of Zimbabwe's bankrupt Avient Cargo Airlines (Z3) has introduced the first of three planned additional MD11 freighters (MSN 48746 | N278WA) into its fleet with flights to Africa planned in due course.
Based out of London Gatwick, the aircraft will operate its inaugural flight April 30.
“With the first aircraft in service, we will commence building our scheduled services,” Simon Clarke, CEO of AV Cargo, said. “The additional capacity will enable us to increase the number of destinations served as we expand our reach across the African continent. This is a pleasing and proud occasion for AV Cargo and another milestone achieved.”
Other scheduled services into Africa will Lagos, Nigeria; Bamako, Mali; Entebbe, Uganda; Port Harcourt, Nigeria; Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo; Freetown, Sierra Leone; and Pemba Island.
