VietJetAir leasing 3 A320s from AWAS for use in regional expansion plans

VietJetAir
is set to lease three new sharklet-equipped A320-200s from Dublin-based aircraft leasing company AWAS. The Vietnamese LCC currently operates a fleet of six A320-200s hubbed out of Vietnam’s three major economic and tourist centres: Ho Chi Minh City Tan Son Nhat International (SGN), Hanoi Noibai International (HAN) and Da Nang International (DAD).
Currently it only operates one international route, Ho Chi Minh City - Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK), with services connecting Hanoi with the Thai capital due to commence this summer. VietJetAir says it plans to use the aircraft in aiding its expansion plans which include flights to Busan Gimhae (PUS), Kuala Lumpur International (KUL), Seoul Incheon International (ICN), Singapore Changi International (SIN) and Taipei Taoyuan International (TPE)
