Taiwan's EVA Air to replace A330s with B787-10s

EVA Air will replace its fleet of A330s with B787-10s chairman Zhang Wei revealed during the delivery ceremony for the Taiwanese carrier's latest pair of B777-300(ER)s, B-16718 (msn 43289) and B-16719 (msn 42103).

Speaking on the occasion, Zhang said at least five of the -10 variants would be ordered to gradually replace the airline's fleet of A330s - eleven A330-200s and three A330-300s - currently used on flights throughout South East Asia, Australia, and Europe. With an additional six B777-300(ER)s on order from Boeing, Zhang also announced that EVA Air is participating in the design of the new B777X of which the B777-9 will most likely feature in any future orders the airline places.

Referencing the airline's Cargo division, Zhang said the B777-F would be its primary choice when choosing replacements for its current fleet of nine B747-400(F)s and three MD-11(F)s.

EVA Air operates a diverse fleet of both Airbus Industrie and Boeing equipment with eight A321s, three B747-400s, two B747-400(M)s, fifteen B777-300(ER)s and seven MD-90s.
