Boeing Rolls Out American's First 787

The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner for American Airlines has been rolled out of the final assembly facility last week, according to All Things 787 Blog.

The aircraft will get painted in the airline's livery in the following days, according to a Twitter post by the airline on Tuesday.

The Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier tweeted out a photo of its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner which has finished up assembly activities, saying that "Next stop - The paint shop".
The airline was originally supposed to take delivery of its first 787 in November; however, the delivery could be postponed to December. The first 787-8 is scheduled to enter service on domestic routes from early 2015.
American has firm orders for 42 787s - 16 787-8s and 26 787-9s, with options for another 58. The airline is scheduled to take delivery of two 787s in 2014, 11 in 2015, 13 in 2016 and nine in 2017.
The 787-8s will replace some of its 767s as part of its fleet renewal plan, said the carrier.
