Mahan Air added its second German destination (in addition to Düsseldorf) and its third to Europe (joining Istanbul Atatürk), when it began twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays) operations to Munich (MUC) on 11 March. Ordinarily the 3,512-kilometre sector will be flown by the Iranian airline’s 210-seat A310s from Tehran Imam Khomeini (IKA), however the inaugural flight was operated by one of its A340s. There will be no competition on the city pair.
