Philippine Airlines’ Manila to New York (via YVR)

Philippine Airlines on 15 March resumed flights to New York after an absence of 17 years. It now operates four times weekly on the 13,700-kilometre route between Manila (MNL) and New York JFK (JFK) using an A340-300. Flights operate via Vancouver in both directions. New York becomes the airline’s fifth US destination after Guam, Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Philippine Airlines last served the New York region in 1997, when it flew to New York’s Newark Liberty Airport. The move to expand flights in the United States and Canada comes after the Philippines was restored to Category 1 status by the United States Federal Aviation Administration.
