JetPurple eyes Burbank-Asia longhaul in 1H2016

JetPurple Airwayz (Scottsdale) is to revive operations later next year with plans to offer premium longhaul services as well. The virtual carrier operated a brief scheduled public charter service in conjunction with PublicCharters (P1, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton) between Chicago Midway and Manistee in mid-2012 before going dormant.

In its latest release, JetPurple said it intends to revive service during the first half of 2016, again operating as a US Department of Transportation-regulated public air charter. This time round, JetPurple intends to operate 4x weekly flights between Scottsdale and San Diego Int'l, Las Vegas McCarran, and Puerto Peñasco (Mexico). It has grander plans for the greater Los Angeles area where it intends to operate 4x weekly flights between Burbank and Shanghai Pudong, Seoul Incheon, and Singapore Changi.

While the start-up is reportedly eyeing both ATR42s and B737BBJs, it has yet to disclose which firm it will partner for its operational needs.

JetPurple Airwayz CEO Adam Blumenkranz says his airline's Unique Selling Point (USP) will be that all routes will operate FBO to FBO (Fixed Base Operator) thereby allowing passengers to cut down on transit time by using private airport terminals instead of the more crowded commercial facilities.
