Hongtu Airlines secures AOC; prepares to launch
Hongtu Airlines (A6, Kunming Changshui) has secured its AOC from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) ahead of plans to launch commercial operations during the current half of the year.
The start-up took delivery of its maiden aircraft, A321-200 (sl) B-8285 (cn 6156), in December last year as part of its certification drive. A second - B-8318 (cn 6268) - is expected once operations have successfully launched. Hongtu Airlines will focus on operating domestic passenger and cargo services out of the southwestern Chinese hub of Kunming.
Backed by CNY600 million (USD96.6 million) in start-up capital, Hongtu Airlines is a joint venture between Kunming Evergreen Financing (30%) and local tycoon Tang Longcheng (20%), with the remaining 50% held by a consortium of five local companies including Yunnan Household Network Technology Co., the Yunnan Logistics Co., Yunnan Ming Logistics Ltd., Kunming East Cloud Air Ticket Agency Ltd., and the Kunming Trading Co., each owning a 10% share.
