KLM flies Dreamliner to three Chinese cities

New long-haul jet to start flying to Chengdu, Hangzhou and Xiamen

KLM’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner

KLM will start flying its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to three cities in China later this month.

On 27 March 2016, the Dutch national carrier will deploy the new long-haul jet on its thrice weekly service from Amsterdam to Chengdu. Flights will run every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Then a day later on 28 March KLM will deploy the B787 on its three weekly flights to Hangzhou, operating every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. And finally on 29 March, the airline will start flying the Dreamliner on its Amsterdam-Xiamen route. This route is also served three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

The B787-9 will replace a B747-400 aircraft on the Chengdu route and the B777-200 that currently flies to Hangzhou and Xiamen.

KLM’s 294-seat Dreamliner is configured in a three-class layout, with 30 flat-bed seats in business class, 48 seats in premium economy and 216 seats in economy.



The airline currently operates 30 weekly flights to five destinations in mainland China, namely Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Xiamen. And from 5 July, KLM will add a fourth weekly flight to Chengdu, operating every Tuesday.
