Iberia has introduced a regional and intercontinental route duo this week, adding flights from San Sebastian (EAS) to London Luton (LTN), as well as Madrid (MAD) to Johannesburg (JNB)

The former seasonal sector, launched on 26 July, will be operated twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Thursdays) by the airline’s 50-seat CRJ 200s until the end of August. The 951-kilometre route, the Spanish airport’s only UK service, faces no direct competition. The new route to South Africa, commenced on 1 August, is a service resumption following a four-year hiatus. The 8,100-kilometre city pair will be flown thrice-weekly by the airline’s A330-300 fleet, and again faces no direct competition.
