The 8,980-kilometre sector will be served by the oneworld member thrice-weekly (Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays) on its 787-8s. Flights leave the Chilean capital at 23:05, arriving into the Californian hub at 06:20 the following day. The return flight then departs Los Angeles at 15:15, landing back into Santiago at 06:00 the next morning. The route will face no direct competition. Santiago is the second destination to be linked to Los Angeles by LATAM, with the carrier already serving the US city from Lima with a twice-daily service on a mix of its 767-300s and 787-8s.
