Jet2 (LS, Leeds/Bradford) has ended dedicated B737 freighter operations after its only remaining B737-300(F) was withdrawn from commercial service this week.
According to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, G-CELW (msn 23659) was ferried to Kemble Cotswold Airport on Tuesday, January 17.
Jet2 used the aircraft, along with its dwindling fleet of B737-300(QC)s, to carry out overnight flights throughout the United Kingdom for and on behalf of Royal Mail under a contract which expired this month.
The leisure specialist did not participate in the tender for a new Royal Post contract running from January 2017 through to 2022. The tender was ultimately awarded to Sweden's West Atlantic Group.
As it stands, Jet2's mainline fleet will consist of twenty B737-300s, twenty-nine B737-800s and eleven B757-200s used to connect various centres around the United Kingdom with leisure destinations in the Mediterranean, Central Europe, and the United States.
