Shanghai-based Juneyao Airlines Tuesday confirmed that it has placed an order for five long-range Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with options for a further five 787-9s, as part of its plans to go long-haul.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin with three aircraft in 2018, the Shanghai-based carrier added.
Juneyao Airlines, which operates 56 Airbus A320 family jets, now mainly focuses on domestic services, with its only international routes to points in Japan, South Korea and Thailand.
The new wide-bodies will be put on services to North America, Europe and Australia.
