Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) has formally awarded US lessor AAR Aircraft Sales & Leasing the contract for the supply of two A330-200s following a Request For Proposals (RFP) issued in September last year.
The paper indicated last month that AAR's proposal - USD104.8 million for each jet - was the lowest. In addition, it also indicated it could supply the first aircraft by mid-April instead of the September deadline stipulated in the original RFP. A second jet is due by April 2018.
The state-owned airline plans to use the aircraft to replace its outgoing B757-200s while expanding its network to cover China, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.
